Hammers & Ales 2024
Experience the power of community at Hammers & Ales, our half-day give-back event in the picturesque Dorey Park & Recreation Center (NEW LOCATION).
This unique give-back experience revolves around teams coming together to hand-build outdoor furniture, selecting from either picnic tables or park benches. ToolBank provides all the necessary materials, tools, and expert guidance.
The tangible results? We donate every picnic table or park bench built by YOU to Henrico Public Schools & Capital Region Land Conservancy. A few hours spent using power tools and bonding with your crew transforms into a lasting impact within your community for current and future generations to enjoy.
But it's not just about the tools and building materials. Hammers & Ales is an outdoor celebration featuring music, local craft beverages, food trucks, tool-themed games, and even a splash pad! Come be apart of something bigger in 2024 - impact your community with one swing of the hammer at a time.
In 2023, 40 teams hand-built 45 pieces of outdoor furniture, including park benches, picnic tables, and dog houses. These outdoor furniture and placemaking features were donated to
James River Park and the doghouses go to
Ring Dog Rescue.
Spend a Saturday afternoon being the force for change in 2024! Your team's unique volunteer experience will help create safe and vibrant public spaces in Richmond and beyond.
Our goal is to host 55 corporate and community building teams, guiding them to hand-build 60 outdoor furniture pieces for donation to Henrico Public Schools & Capital Region Land Conservancy.
